DCLAP (D.C. Lebanese American Professionals) is a club aimed at promoting professional and friendship exchanges between Lebanese/Lebanese-American young professionals (and graduate students) in the Washington, D.C. area.

DCLAP held its first gathering in March 2004, and has organized 50+ activities since.

Objectives:

  • Enable Professional Networking

  • Develop a Friendship Circle

  • Promote the Lebanese Culture

  • Assist and Help Integrate Lebanese Newcomers

Eligibility:

Two criteria -- Members are to be:

1.  Lebanese or Americans of Lebanese descent

2.  Young Professionals or Graduate Students

Activities:

1.   Dinner on a Quarterly Basis:  We organize a dinner 4 times a year (October, January, April and June), every last Thursday of the month at 8:30 p.m., in the Washington, D.C. area.

2.  Monthly Movie Club:  We organize movie clubs on a regular basis, featuring foreign movies for the most part (including Lebanese film productions).  A discussion about the movie and movie-making in general typically follows the movie display.

3Bi-Monthly Photography Club:  Both beginners and more advanced individuals interested in photography meet occasionally to discuss photography techniques, share/discuss photos taken, and participate in field trips to take pictures as a group.

4Additional Activities:  We coordinate annual community service events to give back to the local community, as well as occasionally organize events such as picnics, holiday parties, etc.
