Fall '08 Dinner : 

Thursday, October 30

at Caribbean Breeze

Hello everyone!

You are invited to join us over dinner next Thursday at Caribbean Breeze, a Latin restaurant in the Ballston (Arlington) area. 

Here are the details:

When:  Thursday, October 30 at 8:30 p.m.   (Dinner will be served at 9 p.m.)

Where:  Caribbean Breeze, a restaurant with a fantastic Latin atmosphere and great recipes straight from the Caribbean (4100 Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA. Phone: 703.812.7997).  Complimentary parking is available close by (follow the Parking sign), and the restaurant is located one block away from the Ballston metro station. 

Attire:  Business Casual

Fee: $20 per person (this includes an entrée and soda, as well as tax and tip).

1-  Invite Your Friends:  Help spread the word about this get-together by forwarding this message to Lebanese acquaintances that might be interested in attending. 

2-  R.S.V.P:  Please confirm whether you/any friends of yours are able to join us on the 30th, by emailing your response to dclap@hotmail.com by MONDAY, OCTOBER 27.   

Once you R.S.V.P, please make every effort to commit, as we make dinner arrangements based on the head count.

The Lebanese Collegiate Network (LCN), which enables networking between different university Lebanese clubs, is organizing a dinner in Arlington, VA on Sunday, December 2nd, from 4 to 7 pm.  The dinner will feature presentations by the different D.C. area University Lebanese Clubs.  For more info, please check the link below:

The House of Lebanon is hosting a Career Night for young Lebanese professionals and students at Kerckhoff Grand Salon at UCLA on Monday, October 22. Bone Marrow Donor needed for Lebanese woman with Leukemia:

Jessica Cody Abood, a woman of Lebanese descent was diagnosed with Leukemia and is currently in need of a Bone Marrow Transplant. You can help by getting tested to find out if you are a matching donor. Please note that chances of being a matching donor in this case increase significantly if you are of Lebanese-American descent. Lebanese Child Adoption:    

Kathy -- whose grandparents are Lebanese --, and her husband are looking to adopt a child from Lebanon.  They have already been approved by the US immigration and are now trying to locate a child in Lebanon and a lawyer who could assist them over there.  As such, they are looking for someone (Arabic speaker would be a plus) willing to help them navigate through the adoption process over the next few months; the individual will be paid for their time.
